Tackling the urgent need for additional lab-testing points-of-service, Phoenix-based GetLabs has partnered with LabCorp and Quest/Sonora Quest to provide in-home phlebotomist visits. Not only is this a huge value-add for patients, with in-person lab services often requiring long waits, but this service also helps maintain social distancing while relieving the burden on overwhelmed healthcare system.

What is the need are you focusing on?

-Providing additional urgent healthcare services -Facilitating additional Covid-19 testing -Limiting exposure for both healthcare providers and patients at hospitals and labs -Alleviating the burden on the healthcare system

What is the best example of business adaption you’ve seen in response to COVID-19?

Small but mighty, my favorite pivot is by far...Goat 2 Meeting: Simplicity is briliiance: Sweet Farm, an animal sanctuary in Half Moon Bay, otherwise completely shut down and at risk of failure, recognized early on the opportunity presented by the shift to zoom meetings and ideated a quick pivot of offering goat and animal cameos on zoom meetings. With some savvy PR and marketing, Sweet Farm has had over 3000 requests, has been able to recover well beyond the revenue lost as a result of forced closure, and has been able to extend the business to involve other animal sanctuaries and small farms. While perhaps a relatively insignificant service in light of global challenges, the sheer combination of creativity, value recognition, and flawless execution make Sweet Farm and Goat 2 Meeting my favorite.
