A community-powered delivery service and marketplace where voluntary labor is matched with local demand. As more people go on runs, walks, and enjoy the outdoors, it offers an opportunity to deliver essential goods to neighbours.

It optimizes a pool of volunteers' time outdoors by pairing them with a delivery route in their local community, bridging the gap between businesses and vulnerable individuals. It demonstrates how community can be a driver of economic activity.

What is the need are you focusing on?

For vulnerable or at-risk individuals, going to a grocery store or market is an immense task. And in some areas, local businesses may not offer delivery, delivery service coverage may be minimal, or third-party delivery fees are too costly. Ultimately, it addresses the need to have safe access to essential goods (e.g. groceries).

What is the best example of business adaption you’ve seen in response to COVID-19?

Roodkappje is a community-driven delivery platform to help small restaurants and markets reopen at least for deliveries. Volunteers that go out for a jog or to walk your dog are turned into deliverymen who pick up parcels and deliver them around their neighbourhood.
