Bodega Makeover, similar to Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Hotel Impossible and This Old House, is a docu-reality web series highlighting the story of bodega owners in a way that motivates community organizations, corporate sponsors, brands to participate in a bodega transformation. The end game is not just to tell the stories of Hispanic and Urban communities, but also to promote healthier options.

What is the need are you focusing on?

COVID-19 is making it harder to find an oasis for people living in food deserts and many bodegas may face a harder time getting help from the government. Our goal is to promote healthier options, and to tell the stories of Hispanic/Urban communities that have less access to healthy food, while simultaneously connecting families and communities.

What is the best example of business adaption you’ve seen in response to COVID-19?

There's an app, My Bodega Online, will help bodega owners manage online orders and dispatch deliveries in 10 minutes. This idea can apply to bodegas in every community.
