Building a platform that helps people transitioning and living a virtual lifestyle during quarantine time.
Our team has noticed that many individuals and organizations are offering free resources during COVID-19: e.g. Lauv did a free live-performance on Instagram Live, Carnegie Mellon opened up their free computer science video lectures, and Adobe enabled free student access to Creative Cloud. We were touched by all these wonderful resources, but we noticed that not many of our friends knew about them. For this project, we aim to consolidate and categorize the resources on a website to help people discover more and increase exposures for the resources.
In what ways did you change your behaviors as a result of this resource?
It is a great news that many people are practicing social distancing and staying at home. However, as Dr. Rajiv Tandon mentions, people need to be cautious around "fear and uncertainty regarding COVID-19 causing a level of anxiety, depression and a sense of loss".
Our project aims to provide free resources and events to augment people's quarantine life through watching cooking lessons, learning new design tools, or listening to college lectures. As mentioned, a lot of individuals and organizations are offering free resources to help - we are here to compile and provide the list for everyone out there.
In what ways did you share this information?
We have asked our friends to share any free resources or events that help those who are affected by COVID-19. We have also sent google form links out to Facebook groups and Reddit to build and expand our list, which you can also do here: https://forms.gle/AHENkGfADhzhNdbB7
