I try not to read the newspaper every day as it is overwhelming to read all the information they publish, and I trust more the information that the official organisations like WHO publish. Although I feel their website has too much info divided in many different sections and videos. I think it would be a good idea to have an interactive map where you can filter by different information or data, depending on the area you are looking for. So you can have an overall idea of everything that is happening at a glance.

Upload or share a link to this resource/message/source of information to share it with others.

In the Dashboard provided by WHO you are able to check the 'cases reported' and the 'cumulative number'. In my opinion, I think that it'd be helpful if they add more filters to it to see other information at a glance and by country, such as 'Recovery cases', 'Government announces', 'Voluntary need' (like hospitals or elderly people at their homes that need help, as well as animal shelters), etc.

Did this resource motivate you to change your behaviors?

  • Yes

In what ways did you change your behaviors as a result of this resource?

There's been many fake messages on whatssapp that confuse and alarm people even more. So I feel more motivated to try and find a 'solution' where people can be informed in just one place with truthful and relevant information, like a quickly update status of their country and the rest of the world not only about the number of cases reported and deaths but also about the survival cases, their government announcements and how they can help others. This is why I want to collaborate in OpenIdeo and see if I can be helpful to develop this tool, or see if I can contribute in any other way.

Did you share this information with your network?

  • Yes

In what ways did you share this information?

I've just shared it with some friends to know if they would be interest in building the tool with me, but I haven't checked with other people just yet if they think this tool would be actually helpful for the general public.

Where are you getting information around COVID-19?

  • News: Digital
  • WHO (World Health Organization)
  • Word of Mouth

What information do you feel you are missing about COVID-19?

How can we as citizens help others from home, apart from doing donations.

What populations or personas are not currently being addressed with today’s COVID-19 information?

I guess people that don't have easy or no access to internet. But I know the UK government is now sending messages to their citizen´s phone to keep them updated with their announcements, which I think is a really good idea to keep everyone informed. Here in Spain we don't have that for example.
