An uplifting video compilation of kids answering questions about coronavirus and how they would save the world.
1. New York Times magazine: a) probably the most reliable information among the media sources, b) interactive maps and visualizations help readers understand the situation better, c) inclusive since it offers free access to covid-19 updates - otherwise you would have to pay for subscription
2. WHO Whatsapp group: a) reliable resource, b) live updates in the same messaging platform I use to share news about covid-19
3. Covid Live Tracker app: great idea to keep citizens informed and help them avoid places where the virus was discovered. Unfortunately, number are updated only once a day. This could definitely be improved. Also, there is a lot of debate on whether the numbers provided by the government represent reality.
4. LinkedIn World Economic Forum account: WEF releases videos not only the severity of the cases around the world, but also what countries, companies, and citizens are doing to fight it, i.e. singing in balconies in Italy, Korea offering "Drive-through" covid-19 testing, animals coming back to the canals in Venice. This is refreshing in times where most of the other sources are just creating greater panic and negativity which deteriorates the mental state of vulnerable people.
In what ways did you change your behaviors as a result of this resource?
Resource #1: increased my awareness and urged me to share the information with my family and friends
Resource #2: empowers me to discuss this issue with others who have become part of the live updates from WHO
Resource #3: allows me to avoid places that have been infected, yet creates resistance toward those in power since the numbers are highly debatable
Resource #4: encouraged me to make a video with kids answering the questions about covid-19 and ways they would save the world. This video is to uplift people and show that with imagination + hope it is possible to find solutions to any problem. While kids are solving negativity, grown-ups can focus on keeping high spirits and getting closer to solutions.
What information do you feel you are missing about COVID-19?
POSITIVE information. We are trying to reassure the stock market in USA and get the economy spinning again. Why don't we reassure people that we will get through this, that we are capable of great things, that there are tools being implemented, that this virus is a wake-up call and the golden opportunity to reconnect with our families, to welcome wildlife back to our cities, to redesign the system?
What populations or personas are not currently being addressed with today’s COVID-19 information?
Countries where citizens do not have the freedom of speech. Local media cannot criticize the government and international media is too focused on covering stories with big numbers. The numbers are probably even bigger in non-democratic countries only that they are hidden from citizens.
