Humans are naturally social. Our wellbeing depends on it. "Social Distancing" implies no contact, whereas it's only physical contact that we should avoid. Physical distancing has an implied metric. At this time we need contact to support, comfort, and share our fears and joys. Just not physical contact (for the moment)
