The best resources I’ve used are postings of journals and articles by physicians I know, trust and respect on LinkedIn. These articles outlines the why these precautionary measures are important, and their advise are effective because they use Good data visualizations

Upload or share a link to this resource/message/source of information to share it with others.

I started changing my perception & behavior was when company leadership (interventional cardiologist) discussed epidemic during a meeting. Also when I spoke with my friend located in HK. She was not concerned about her getting the disease, but more about her grandma and parents because of a social obligation to prevent the disease from spreading. The article/simulator was pivotal for me to understand impact of social distancing https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/world/corona-simulator/

Did this resource motivate you to change your behaviors?

  • Yes

In what ways did you change your behaviors as a result of this resource?

I let my friends know why it’s important for social distancing, why they should not dismiss the “overreaction”, and don’t assume thing because they are “young and healthy” .

When my friend visited my apartment last week I made them wash their hands and leave their shoes out.

I tell my friends not to panic with the groceries as well. The panic and frantic purchases is causing larger crowds at the stores which defeats the purpose of social distancing. Go out only when you need to, supplies will not be an issue, it’s only an issue when everyone is buying it.

What information do you feel you are missing about COVID-19?

How testings are done, in the U.S. especially. If you know of someone impacted by the disease, how should they react in different situations? (e.g if they are living with a family, babies, elderly), how should they go to the hospital with limited exposure?

Also how long will this last for? How long should citizens be mentally prepared to go through this? Even after the virus is under control, people should still be practicing distancing until it is fully gone.

What populations or personas are not currently being addressed with today’s COVID-19 information?

We have not addressed workers with their jobs impacted. They are living in fear but battling with the need to work and make an earning. The ones with low SES needs more support other than the elderly

What is your current profession?

Clinical Project Manager

In what city are you located?

Boston

In what country are you located?

United States
