Effective Communication for Children and Young Adults

Finding ways to communicate to children the importance of social distancing and constant hand washing without panicking them.

This resource was sent to me by my mum because my children had got so much misinformation at school. While it is aimed at younger children it did help me get them to a place where they calmed down a bit and understood why they can't just go off to their friends house.

I was able to ask my children what forms of misinformation they had heard and understand how my behaviour, stress was affecting them. They also understood why I was constantly asking them to wash their hands.

What information do you feel you are missing about COVID-19?

Clear and concise information on symptoms, and when they are serious. Also information about the disease in children, ways in which it has gone wrong to better manage children's symptoms and healthcare. 

What populations or personas are not currently being addressed with today’s COVID-19 information?

When people talk about immunocompromised populations in Africa, we are not looking or talking about populations with HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Tuberculosis, Cholera, and how they can best manage their symptoms.
