REGARDLESS OF ILLNESS, EVERYONE IS VALUED

Keen to let folks in your neighbourhood who might be self isolating know that you are willing to help out? We've created some flyers that you can download, print off and pop into letterboxes in your 'hood. There's a colour version or a black and white version if you want to photocopy: http://bit.ly/covid-tautoko

Great idea and they look great. In the US they can't be put in mailboxes but could be put on doors.

Great idea, Meena Kadri . Love it. I want to copy it where I live, but am figuring out if it will work in the semi-rural place I live in now.

OMG Arjan. Not only has it been great to see you chiming in here after all this time but also was blown away to see on Twitter today that you'd made your own version of these for your European location. Ace to see that we old-school OpenIDEATORS still have the global collaborative chops we had 10 years ago!

Oh, yes, Meena. It's really amazing. I love that connectedness, that allows an idea to jump from NZ literally to the other side of the world. And you are inspiring. But, hahaha, 10 years, ago, it can't be... wait... What?! 10! Indeed. Reason to celebrate that we are still around here.

By the way. We are not in complete lockdown yet. Many people can still go around shop and talk to eachother outside. The village I live close to is one where people live for generations. A town a bit further already has a bit less of that. I shared my copy in some FB groups, and people seem to appreciate it. Hope it helps. We know all our neighbours in the hamlet we live in, and are keeping an eye on eachother.

Meena Kadri love this idea. Are people volunteering to take action? Is isolation volunteer or mandatory in wellington? Als great to have you back!

Hey Luisa. Great to hear from you and well done to the team on getting this challenge up and running so fast. Isolation is compulsory for foreigners arriving since Sunday to New Zealand, otherwise it's currently voluntary.

I lived in Hong Kong when SARS happened, so when we created these flyers I was trying to get ahead of the changes that might happen over the numbers of people who will feel the need / be asked to self isolate.

Yes – we're getting a great uptake of volunteers down here. Students are forming support squads, community groups rallying – and folks across the country are telling us that they are distributing these flyers.

Regards from afar to my former colleagues at IDEO!
