Smarter sink faucet that turn on and off if there is an object and no object between the faucet tip and the sink bed respectively.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become global issue because the virus is pandemic. The means of the transmission of the virus made our lives impossible to continue in a same way in interaction to each other and to our environment. According to WHO the best way to beat this health crisis is breaking the chain of transmission of the coronavirus. This means avoiding contact to each other directly or indirectly. Most people can handle avoiding direct contact but it is impossible to avoid indirect contact. Meaning indirect contact means touching an object which has been touched by someone else. One of the main indirect contacts created from public or home sink faucet for washing your hand to other uses. Meaning when you use a sink faucet you first open the handle that by turning or pushing and when you are done you close the sink faucet by turning or touching the handle and if there is  coronavirus on the handle it does not matter because the last thing you touched is the handle. This will make you think that your hands are clean because you washed but the fact is that the virus might be in your hands after you washed.

A smarter sink faucet that turn on and off if there is an object and no object between the faucet tip and the sink bed respectively. Meaning this smarter faucet is equipped with a distance sensor that measures the height between the tip of the faucet and the bed of the sink at all time. When there is an object between the tip of the faucet and bed of the sink whether it is a hand, a dish plate, cup or other material it automatically send signal for the valve to open. When the valve opens water comes out. Then automatically when the object is removed from the point between the tip of the faucet and the bed of the sink the distance sensor send signal to the valve to close the opening. Since we feed the data of the exact height between the tip of the faucet and the bed of the sink to the distance sensor it knows when there is an object and the object is removed in micro seconds. This will help on avoiding one means of transmission of the virus because end users do not have to use the water gate hand valve.

I agree touching the handles all the time to wash is so counter intuitive. Currently a lot of public sinks have a red light or motion sensor. Is the distance sensor easier to make, install, or have better acuracy. Can this be retrofitted to current sinks?

Good question,
well, first I developed this project for conservation of water https://conservationx.com/project/id/458/everydropletmatters to save every drop of water as much as possible. Meaning wether the faucet is activated by red light or Mechanical turned motion, it involves in end users need for turning on and off the faucet. The red light is better than the ordinary mechanical turning faucet but it still works based on the need of end users turning on and off the faucet. This mechanism does not relate end users turning on and off the faucet that when there is an object between the tip of the faucet and the sink it discharge water and if there is no object it turns off. Plus the mechanism can not have false signal to turn on the faucet when there is a person near by.

Also this project is about offering additional comfort for end users to save water
