We intend to provide a Geospatial Covid-19 re-integration solution which subsequently could be used to manage other outbreaks. This will be a Mobile App linked to a GPS with which people can self-identify if they tested positive to Covid-19. This App could work with Maps in a way that it shows you how close you are to a Covid-19 patient, in a map covering 20m around a users current locations. The users position will be represented with a green pointer while the Covid-19 patients (people who are currently positive) withing the 20m buffer region will be represented with red pointers. These pointers will move as they move. It could also have a voice notification just like google maps (saying something like "you are 5m close to a Covid-19 patient").
This will solve both the social distancing issue and the Privacy issue. Since these people willingly turned their status on the App as Positive, They will consent that their location data will be shared but not their names or identity. When the person tests Negative again, he/she can change his status on the App to Negative and his location will no longer be shared. I understand that their could be additional privacy concerns which may need to be fixed. But if this is worth it, It could be IBM's way of helping the re-integration process.
The App will be linked to a database. This will have 3 sections
Tested Positive - These are people that have already been tested and confirmed positive by NCDC. Their pointers will show in Red on the App
Showing symptoms but not tested - This will be for people that are showing symptoms of covid 19 but have not been able to go for test. It is pertinent that they self identify on the app so that other healthy people can keep their distance from them. There pointers will show in yellow on the app
Healthy users - These are all the users that are not in the above categories. Their pointers will show in green on the app but will be visible to them alone. This will also include people that have completely recovered from Covid 19.
The central database will be regulated by the authorities.
This will help reduced infection rate by ensuring distancing from both already confirmed cases and also those who are showing symptoms but not yet tested.
This is also a solution which does not crumble economic activities
