Reminding ourselves the beauty of Singapore

Project RunThruSingapore takes us on a run around Singapore and reminds us that we can find beauty if we look around. A simple, yet poignant expression of love for one's country.

Project RunThruSingapore takes us on a journey of a young man who runs through Singapore "in a single day". Starting from Pulau Ubin, he made a round from the East to the West, then to the North of Singapore before going Central & South and the Night Spots. Along the journey, we see many familiar places where we live, work and play. Check out the route on Google Map.

As we busy ourselves with our everyday life, it is easy to forget that we live in a beautiful country – not just in terms of landscape but also people and activities. A group of young Singaporeans came together to remind fellow Singaporeans, both at home and overseas, that there is beauty in Singapore if we were to just take a moment to look around.

SteadiProductions has other projects, such as  Project "We Are Singapore!", where they created a citizen version of a National Day Song MTV. These are small and simple projects, but they exemplify how one can inspire the sense of belonging among fellow citizens.

Awesome, Keith! And as we approach the upcoming Concepting phase, folks might like to think about how we could build upon initiatives like this. Could there be ways to encourage citizens to send in photos of their own runs through their favourite parts of Singapore? And an associated website where you could search for running partners? And an annual city-wide running fund-raiser? So much to be inspired by on this fab local insight. We're looking forward to the ideas it might spark as we move to Concepting....
