PLUGGED IN ... Linked In meets X-Prize meets Kick-Starter...

Why can't we search for people in our neighbourhoods (or your city) who (a) have similar interests (b) cross paths without knowing it (c) share same passion to do something in the community? Can we enable people to do so?

I found this site  http://jasoncypret.com/spotscovery/
that talks about an idea for a portal, SpotScovery, which is described as currently in private beta.

SpotScovery (in theory) enables you to "meet like-minded people”.  It's kinda pitched as a dating site for singles, but what if we built on it?

What if we had a portal or app that allows people register, search and find (a) people who are like-minded, and (b) share the same passion to help out / tackle an issue in the community, we've got the beginnings of a small initiative / co-op!!!

Let's called it PLUGGED IN.

PLUGGED IN = think of it as Linked In meets X-Prize meets Kick-Starter...
