Every year, one day during September, more than 20,000 volunteers get together and clean all the beaches, rivers and lakes of the country (Dominican
Republic). The waste that is colected is measured to make an analysis of which are the main sources of pollution, to take action from the root and attack the very cause that produces this kind of garbage. Also the waste is recycled.

International Coastal Cleanup is a great movement. On top of physically experiencing the issue of trash pollution, the onsite weighing and analysis of collected trash not only drives home real facts on pollution source, but also helps scientists analyze gloabl data in the long run.
