East Asian Communal Exercise
I observe older folks doing tai chi in Singapore's public areas, frequently building plazas. I always wonder, where are the young ones? And why not yoga? Zumba? Jiu jitsu?
I've been to Singapore 4 times, and stayed for a month once. All the community stuff is done by old folks. They gather in the morning and do tai-chi while younger people get gym subscriptions. They talk after, and they know their neighbors, which is not very typical in that country. This is a great way to evolve current cultural practices and get people talking about common concerns and issues.

So I guess the question is, how do you gather people even before problems become apparent? How do you get them to voluntarily gather and devote their time to communal activities? This opens the space for dialogue.
