Become your role model!
Show local (Singapore) role models (pop stars, athletes etc.) displaying the behavior that should be stimulated.
For example; show role models that are attractive for every population group that throw away litter ín the litter bin.
Social role models can steer the behavior of their admirers. Use Singaporean pop stars, athletes etc. to display correct behavior, for example littering, standing up for elderly at the MRT or making room for each other in crowed streets etc.
Show a role model littering.
The role model can be shown in action at a litter bin or in action on a poster in the MRT. Also commercials can be used, in papers or on television but most important is to display the correct behavior at the spot where this behavior is needed.
How does your concept inspire collaboration between individuals, private sector organisations, and the government in an effort to create cleaner neighbourhoods?
Individuals are inspired by their role models to contribute to their neighbourhoods. The individual partly becomes who he admires so much; the role model.
How might your concept be scaled in a way that creates even more connections between people?
This concept can be used in other countries by showing their role models.
Within Singapore maybe normal people can eventually become a role model themselves. When normal people are caught in good behavior action other citizens can make a picture of them and send it to the National Environment Agency who in turn will make posters/commercials with normal citizens in action to inspire others.
When you see your neighbors displayed at the litter bin you will not want to disappoint them by throwing your rubbish on the street.
How might you design a small experiment around your concept that would mobilise action?
We could ask local role models (maybe the slightly less famous ones that are more easy to approach) to pose for a picture and place a poster of the role model at the litter bin and see if this has effect at the litter around the litter bin.
