Would you tell me more about the sanitation hubs?

How might you incorporate corporate branding in this solution or persuade cafes (for example) to use unbranded cups?

Hi Kate,

we came up with the idea of a standardized container that can be borrowed, in order to provide a conveniant possibiltiy for people to say no to throw-away packaging (e.g. take-away coffee cups) as well as eleminate the need to always bring your own reusable containers.

As for logistics, we imagine a system of machines in logistics hubs such as subway stations where you can borrow as well as return your container, which would be a type of expansion on the established deposit-return-schemes in supermarkets. Further, we would like to partner with cafés and restaurants to distribute the cups on a voluntary basis, as it would not cost them anything and give them a markting edge.

The system should not incorporate corporate branding (in my opinion at least, but this would have to further contemplated). Instead it should be run by the city or governing entity.  Overall, the system should incorporate an educational component, thus the change should ideally be consumer driven.
