Idea! and working hand in glove towards refinement
Plastic materials such as disposable glass and straw are discarded as waste casually. Little do we realize the harm we cause to our environment. What makes matters worse is that these objects tend to be non-biodegradable. Furthermore people find it difficult to recycle straws. Considering these products extensive usage and vogue among eating outlets, I believe it is necessary to take corrective action. So imagine a glass with an in-built straw. This glass minimizes waste two-fold. I am optimistic that people would be inclined towards re-using this glass repeatedly owing to its added functionality and user friendly nature.

How does this Idea redesign unrecyclable small format plastic items that often end up as waste?
Disposable plastic cup and straw can no longer be discarded as waste. For starters, both these products have been combined into a single unit. Hence they are easy to wash and robust enough to be used repeatedly. Therefore this eradicates the need of purchasing disposable plastic cups and straw which inevitably find their way towards landfill and oceans.
Which use cases does your Idea apply to?
Rajoo (cafeteria owner at University Campus)
I have been the cafeteria owner since the university's inception. For years the university students have relished the snacks and drinks that we offer. Our cafeteria section that offers shakes and juices is highly popular and provides the much needed quick refreshment to students between classes. But I cant help but notice the alarming increase in waste generated because of straws and plastic cups. These often clog drains.
In what geographical context or area does your Idea plan to operate / solve?
We plan to raise awareness and interest among people at several locations such as famous eating outlets and shopping malls. We would furthermore approach polymer engineers, plastic enthusiasts and volunteers who would further our goal.
How do you envision scaling up your Idea?
Old habits die hard. People might still prefer to utilize disposable straws and glass. We aim to partner with leading food chains to introduce the sippy cup in order to attract people's attention. In shopping malls free samples can be distributed to acquire the crowds interest. We furthermore look forward to collaborating with volunteers who would aid us in spreading the word of our product's benefits.
At what stage of development is your Idea?
