Disposable plastic lighters have been for for at least 40 years last year alone Bic produced 1.8 billion lighters so there's got to be at least 20 billion lighters on the Earth. 20 years ago I thought to myself there's got to be something done well my first idea was a bic curtain I got the idea from a bamboo curtain my second idea was a bic mat which offers many possibilities I have other ideas too

Idea Title

I've always wanted to try to tie it in with the flick my Bic campaign ........ but I don't seem to have a jingle

Company / Organization Name

The disposable lighter recycle program

Website

https://www.facebook.com/Disposable-Lighter-Recycle-Program-341041829650965/

Where are you / your team located?

Naples Florida

How does this Idea redesign unrecyclable small format plastic items that often end up as waste?

This is not a redesign this is an end design a repurposing

Which use cases does your Idea apply to?

It's not a redesign it's an end design an end purpose

In what geographical context or area does your Idea plan to operate / solve?

I hope to start out on the local level a local collection system and then work with the local recycling people eventually scaling up to Global

How do you envision scaling up your Idea?

Well that would be scalability but if the Bic Corporation would come on board with their expertise I figured they build machines then made the lighters they can build machines that disassembles them

At what stage of development is your Idea?

  • Prototyping: You have conducted some small tests or experiments with prospective users and will continue developing idea through these tests.

Please describe how becoming a Top Idea and working with the Think Beyond Plastics Accelerator Program will help to accelerate your solution.

When I have a problem I always value a second set of eyes and having experts in the field looking at my idea would help it to make it better scalability would be the steps and then testing different ways to collect the lighters which I feel is the weakest point
