Sachets are used only because shampoos used in the market are in liquid form. If the liquid form is replaced by solid form the use of sachets would cease to exist. There are shampoo bars available that can be packed in paper based packaging. Also shampoo manufacturers should start making shampoos in powdered form. These powdered shampoos can be made available in paper based sachets similar to those used for salts and can be mixed with water at home for further use. In this way we can stop the use of sachets altogether.

Where are you / your team located?

Vadodara, Gujarat, India

How does this Idea redesign unrecyclable small format plastic items that often end up as waste?

The idea presented here is not new. Traditionally we used herbs and crushed them with stone and later mixed with water for further use. If in similar manner shampoos can be made available in powdered form, and hence packed in paper based sachet, the problem of plastic sachets would be solved.

Which use cases does your Idea apply to?

Single use sachet for liquid consumer products-case 1

In what geographical context or area does your Idea plan to operate / solve?

This can be implemented globally.

How do you envision scaling up your Idea?

A global fmcg company would be an ideal source to implement this idea. Collaborating with small local stores, it can be tested out in focused groups. According to me acceptance wont be a problem and hence it can be implemented globally.

At what stage of development is your Idea?

  • Research & Early Testing: You are exploring an idea, gathering inspiration and information needed to test it with real users.
  • Prototyping: You have conducted some small tests or experiments with prospective users and will continue developing idea through these tests.

Meeting stalwarts of this are would help me learn more about existing methodologies and the existing research going on.
