Making sauce packages out of cellulose or gelatin would make them edible and compostable. Since these materials are safe for liquid medicines they should be fine for condiments

How does this Idea redesign unrecyclable small format plastic items that often end up as waste?

Small sauce packages can be composted instead of discarded

Which use cases does your Idea apply to?

Entire food service industry especially fast food

How do you envision scaling up your Idea?

Branding would be the biggest obstacle but I think this could be overcome by creative use of food dyes or branded dispensers

At what stage of development is your Idea?

  • Research & Early Testing: You are exploring an idea, gathering inspiration and information needed to test it with real users.

Please describe how becoming a Top Idea and working with the Think Beyond Plastics Accelerator Program will help to accelerate your solution.

My goal is to see single serving condiment containers become compostable. There would need to be consumer taste testing done Success would be condiment companies using this form of packaging

Please describe from where your Idea emerged

Individual idea just looking at some vitamin capsules
