Initiating paradigm shift through a radial packaging model.

The essence of this design problem is in the small size of the sachets. Which is why they are disposed off in a way that they become detrimental. This paradigm is designed as a disruptive model that brings back waste into factories for refill. The sum of parts(sachets) becomes greater than the whole(batch). It won't be disposed because of the reinsertion of the parts within the whole.

The number 8 has been finalized keeping in mind the highest degree of divisibility as per use cases.

Where are you / your team located?

How does this Idea redesign unrecyclable small format plastic items that often end up as waste?

The small format plastic items are recollected and sold back to the factories by the likes of people such as Saatwika for some form of remuneration.

Which use cases does your Idea apply to?

Single-use sachet for liquid consumer products - For Rajata, Mark and Saatwika

In what geographical context or area does your Idea plan to operate / solve?

At what stage of development is your Idea?

  • Research & Early Testing: You are exploring an idea, gathering inspiration and information needed to test it with real users.

Please describe how becoming a Top Idea and working with the Think Beyond Plastics Accelerator Program will help to accelerate your solution.

It will help us in prototyping, refinement and execution(modular replication) of the idea through funding and mentor-ship. The idea will get industrial exposure.

Please describe from where your Idea emerged

Music and pizza.

Well, you need to edit your submission again for spelling the word Globally wrong.
Again you have to be clear in your explanation to the common people apart from science terms and languages you used.

The word is correctly implied at its place. It's meaning caters to a global whole through a local context, not compromising on one at the cost of the other.

Hi Alisha!

Music and pizza always inspire me!

Would you explain how this system helps in the recycling of single use sachets? How are you collecting them together? Does this require a modification or change to consumer behaviour?

Photo of Alisha Raman

Single use sachets go back into a batch, after being used. They are collected together by a slight change in consumer behaviour, hinged on the non-destructive opening of sachets. Most of the waste generated is because small sachets are torn open. Instead, if they can be used more as a sachet-tube hybrid, and reinserted into the batch, by users such as Rajata and Mark, they will become more sustainable. Also, the likes of user personas as Saatvika can collect these sachets, reinsert them into batches and sell them back to the factories for some form of suitable remuneration. This makes the entire economy circular.
