This leaf plate is completely green and free of pollution. There is no plastic, glue, additives, ingredients only leaves. The leaves are sutured together through palm leaf fibers. It is still completely waterproof, and the oil will not leak. The most important thing is that the plate can be discarded in the natural environment. Only 28 days it can be completely degraded and become fertilizer.

These leaves can be collected three times per year. Do not worry about no raw materials, and even if the oversupply, the rest of the product is also harmless to the environment.

How does this Idea redesign unrecyclable small format plastic items that often end up as waste?

To use this leaf plate to replace the plastic plate which is widely used for many takeaway food.

Which use cases does your Idea apply to?

No suitable cases for this idea.

How do you envision scaling up your Idea?

I think that this idea will be welcome especially local government. Plastic pollution is huge problem in the world. The first obstacle is the existing market. Restaurants and customers used to use plastic plates. They need time to familiarize. Second obstacle is the enthusiasm of government. If government gives help to generalize leaf plates, there is no obstacle. If government ignore this idea, the obstacle is that this idea need much more time to generalize.

At what stage of development is your Idea?

  • Operating Concept / Startup: You have fulfilled the stages of testing, undertaken a full scale roll-out, and are currently operating this concept/idea as a business.

Please describe from where your Idea emerged

The idea from a existing company called Leaf Republic in Germany.
