The product is a renewable board-based tray combined with thin barrier film. The tray reduces substantially the use of fossil-based rigid plastic trays and it can be easily recycled after use. The innovation is based on unique production technology.

The board material can be printed both on outer and inner surface. This will enable to reduce further other materials related to tray packaging, such as labels and sleeves and increase the brand recognition in the retail shelf. Our technology provides a solution for modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) based on high-barrier liner on the tray, which can be hermetically sealed with lidding films. Jospak tray is suitable for packing of diverse food products.

Hi Tarja!

It is great to see you in the challenge! Am I correct in thinking that your idea applies to use case 2 - tear offs in this challenge - https://d3gxp3iknbs7bs.cloudfront.net/attachments/d7cfea9d-b5a2-4ce3-a8de-3e518a3c4b67.pdf ?

Do you have any existing barriers to developing your idea that you’d like to share to help the OpenIDEO community understand where they might join the conversation and provide feedback?

Looking ahead, you might consider helping the OpenIDEO community better grasp how this idea could play out by describing the next steps! What are some the next and timeline to bring your idea to market?

It would be interesting to know how the packaging production would work end-to-end? What changes would be needed to implement this solution at scale?
