Strengthening Bonds

When family members take on the role of caregiver for a person with dementia, there’s an enormous sense of purpose, responsibility, and fulfillment. But there is also a strain on the relationship between the caregiver and care-recipient, as the person with dementia cognitively regresses to an earlier and earlier age.

How might we invite caregivers and care-recipients to adapt positively to changes in their relationship brought about by dementia? What are solutions that strengthen bonds between caregivers and care-recipients?
