As we mentioned in the brief, our challenge sponsor is eager to leverage all of our inspirations and ideas to create a global award program for the best sustainable value businesses. Let’s look at parallel awards, organisations, initiatives or programs that are focused on searching for and recognising the best around. What might we learn from them?
For example, think about your favorite reality TV singing competition: how do they identify new contestants? What’s their process for selecting the best singers? And what kinds of rewards or recognition do the winners receive?
Now consider a platform like TED: how do organisers determine which speakers to feature? What signals tells audience members and listeners that they’re hearing from experts? And what kind of esteem or recognition do TED presenters receive?
Let’s use analogies to help us better understand how we might identify and celebrate businesses that innovate for world benefit as we move toward Concepting.
