City marketplaces pull together businesses for a weekend fair of exhibiting and celebrating innovation backed by government and having a real event environment - music etc., social media helps spread the message and attracts new businesses.

Celebrating business innovation with a social focus needs to generate excitement and desire to participate. Market squares in mid and large cities bringing companies and people and an event atmosphere, with music, food etc., is going to make a physical impact hat can be shared via the usual web technologies both before and after. The success of the fair and the generation of interest will spread to other locations. The fair itself should offer ways for people to even recruit into projects or suggest ideas. Get some Jamie Oliver like personalities on their and focus on food making etc. the other businesses just considering playing the game will get the point both through directed advertising and the success of the event. 

How does your concept celebrate, identify or inspire for-profit businesses that act as agents of world benefit?

The viral fair idea is old as the hills. With the right support and resources it gets the message out both physically and virtually about companies really making a difference. It can inspire others ... Especially students and businesses having not yet committed but wanting to be inspired for the next shift. The virtual support, twitter, facebook, helps spread the disease.

How will your concept help us create or leverage stories of world benefit that are sticky and shareable?

It's a time honored tradition of fairs brining stories and sharing stories with the public and spreading the message beyond the event both virtually and through copy cat events.

What will it take to scale your concept so that its reach is global and widespread?

Two things. Spread the event concept (and get sponsoring to stage these), web technologies will helo make it global also. Include film and similar both in the events and as global sells (e.g. The latest design thinking movie an example) to movie the message forward. It's a package.
