Giving immunization a different perspective and motive than the current scenario; pitching it in a way the caregivers acknowledge the same.
Describe what you intend to do and how you'll do it in one sentence (required 250 Characters)
Introducing a candid photograph giveaway to the caregivers to serve (1)as a story for the caregiver and a memory for their ward and (2)use the same to motivate other fellow caregivers.
Explain the idea (less than 2,000 characters)
Indian middle-class caregivers spend most of the time with their wards in the infancy. This is the best time to create a strong connection between them. Most of the times caregivers are not motivated enough to immunize their ward for several social and personal reasons.
I wish to propose an idea that is targeted to the base of the pyramid caregivers and their wards to become the next caregivers.
About the idea: The population in the base of the pyramid have a variety in them but one thing common in all of them is empathy for their close ones which has been used to educate caregivers. But I propose to add a factor of compassion in the method; not only to make caregivers make it realize but also to pass it onto their wards. For this, I choose the medium of physical photographs because of their pre-established notion of memories and the psychological ambience they provide. Besides the use of smartphones and the internet has made it much easier to share(photos) and influence/motivate a community. The idea also has the potential to produce positive results in multiple ways. The major challenge is to reduce the cost of the photograph for its practicality on a mass scale. With guidance from other people probably a major insight may come out that replaces photographs but delivers the same results. So, right now my major focus would be to reduce the cost but I am also looking for other mediums to achieve the goal.
I believe that the idea is close to people and any design close to users at least deserves a chance to be built up because in the bigger picture it has to be the users that the design should care about and caregivers with their ward form the biggest stakeholders in the scenario.
I am also planning to work on a way how can the photographs carry important data like the vaccination scheduled or reason/venue/time of vaccination, etc.
Which part(s) of the world does this idea target?
Geographic Focus (less than 250 Characters)
The idea currently is targetted in India primarily because of the attitude towards a hardcopy of a photograph. It can be extended to any other demographics that match the criteria.
Who are your end users and how well do you know them? (750 characters)
The end users in the proposed solutions are the caregivers. Most of the study done is personal observational evaluation methods of a small sample but has a very high potential to be true on a larger scale mainly because of its repetition that validates it.
PS: I require some more time to procure some relevant papers to support the attitude study and to collect data from a bigger sample.
How is the idea unique? (750 Characters)
The idea is unique because it does not follow any existing approach of educating caregivers to be motivated to get their ward immunized. The idea motivates them in a perspective that they connect to.
Hardcopy of photographs carries much more value in the Indian context(eg: having photographers who sell photos at tourist places). Thus, I intend to use this to capture the time spent by caregivers with their wards that show how much they care about the ward and since the age of the internet, spread it around the community to motivate others to do the same. In a longer run, it is also expected to create a ripple where the ward looks at his memory and immunizes his/her ward.

Blueprint: We are exploring the idea and gathering the inspiration and information we need to test it with real users.
How many months are required for the project idea? (140 characters)
I expect a two-month dedicated work for a feasible and large scale solution. I feel it's best to give a years' time for analysing its impact

In this challenge, I worked alone because I was unable to find someone with the same interest to work. So the pace might be slow but I believe the philosophy of the idea is worth a shot to be integrated with the bigger picture.
