Vaxi provides vaccine delivery and reminders to every family through taxi like fashion for rural America, and later India and South Africa.

Explain the idea (less than 2,000 characters)

The inconvenience of having children appropriately vaccinated has provided an obstacle for most parents. In fact, over 25% of children in the U.S. are not adequately vaccinated. The process of driving to a vaccination clinic and the insufferable wait times steals hours from working parents while causing children to miss school. The evidence demonstrates a fall-off of vaccine compliance in children starting at the age of 1. Most parents take their children to the appropriate well-child exams as infants, but as the child ages and is healthy the appointments taper off along with vaccine compliance.
A more convenient solution that provides parents with the same level of care minus the inconvenience is desperately needed. In the US, our business is b2b2c. Vaxi charges health insurance per child per vaccine rate, saves doctor's time on administering vaccines, bring convenience to caregivers, and ensures every child is vaccinated.
VAXI aims to bring convenience to the vaccination process. The platform is an online reminder and scheduling application combined with a delivery service through which trained personnel administer vaccinations at your convenience. Parents will register their children online and will be sent push notifications or text message reminders when their child is due for a vaccination. At the time of the reminder, the parent is able to schedule appointments to have the vaccine delivered and administered to the child (home, school, park, etc) . We offer the service for free to primary care providers, who buys and stores the vaccines. Vaxi medical assistants (cheaper hourly rate than nurses) receive the vaccination prescription and vaccines from pediatricians and drive to the patient's’ desire location to administer the shots.

Who are your end users and how well do you know them? (750 characters)

Customer discovery, including the interviewing of twenty-five of the proposed targeted customer base, has been conducted. It yielded two insightful outcomes. The first reiterated that inconvenience is an obstacle to acquiring vaccinations for children. Mentioned in a multiplicity of comments were aggravations with wait times, scheduling inconveniences, and uncertainty of vaccination schedules. Second, it was made clear that parents require the same convenience and transparency with regard to their children’s vaccinations as they do with all other aspects of caring for their children.

How is the idea unique? (750 Characters)

Business model innovation: charge insurances, free to doctors, bring convenience to parents, and meet where the child is at. Product innovation: Parents simply register their children online and will be sent reminders via push notifications and/or text messages when their child is due for a vaccination. The parent is then able to schedule a vaccine appointment that is convenient for them and their child. VAXI will then deliver the vaccine to their home, workplace, or other convenient location where a trained professional will administer the vaccination. Other features are currently in development are: general vaccination information, disease outbreak notifications, access to child’s record, options for alternative vaccination etc.

Vaxi plans to be a social enterprise that leverages local transporation, medical technicians, and mobile apps to advance vaccine adoption.

In the US, we partner with health insurance, pediatricians, family physicians, and medical assistants to democratize vaccine delivery. In India and South Africa, we partner with local NGOs such as PATH to help us navigate the local community health worker environment and get their buy in.
