Proactively communicating to caregivers using IVR, RoboCaller, and SMS. The rural dwellers this solution impacts mostly will have feature phones. It can be extended to WhatsApp. The data of the caregiver is collected at the birth of the child.
Explain the idea (less than 2,000 characters)
1. The solution provides reminders to the caregivers about immunization of the child. It also helps to educate the ones not to keen on immunization. IVR helps to provide a standard answering system that can be localized.
2. End users are those who live in rural areas. Target is the caregivers of the children, mostly mothers, but also community influencers that have a say to a large number of rural dwellers, e.g. market women leaders, etc.
3. The data entry point to the system is the data collected about the child, the caregiver (mother) and the locality of residence. This helps to segment the data for targeted messaging. A scheduler automatically creates the immunization calendar of the child, based on the entered date of birth. This enables the scheduler to send out SMS messages, or RoboCalls to the registered caregiver. IVR is used to provide an always-on answering service, that can be pre-recorded messages from FAQs. The IVR can also be linked to volunteer health caregivers anywhere in the world for free advice.
The system also includes an online Content Management System, that allows the repository of pre-recorded educational, health information message/content that may be submitted and maintained by the National Health Ministry, NGO's and other health charity organizations.
