ImmuneMe collects biometric details of children and their caregivers, tracks immunization collection and informs us of areas low compliance.
Describe what you intend to do and how you'll do it in one sentence (required 250 Characters)
ImmuneMe aims to solve the problem of low card retention and immunization compliance in Nigeria by collecting biometric and other details of caregivers. Reminders will be sent to them before due date. Areas of low compliance will be sensitized.
Explain the idea (less than 2,000 characters)
ImmuneMe is a platform to register caregivers and their wards in order to have real-time access to their immunization records and to generate reports easily at the health centers. It also allows for faster and more accurate recording and reporting of immunization compliance rates. The system shall inform administrators of local government areas with low compliance rate so that immunization sensitization activities can be directed there. The system is designed to ultimately replace the current paper-based immunization registry, thereby increasing efficiency at all levels of the health system and reducing the workload of health staff.
The system also includes short message service and in-app notifications to remind caregivers of the next immunization due date of their wards thereby increasing caregiver knowledge, and improving their attitudes and intentions to vaccinate
Data from ImmuneMe would be used to generate compliance rate, dropout rate, and timeliness of vaccination before and after intervention. It would also capture a rapid survey to understand the willingness of caregivers to vaccinate in order to understand human centered sensitization methods to use in related demographic areas of low compliance.
During registration on the online platform, caregivers will be asked to provide biometric, address, contact, and other details. Caregivers will also provide a 4-digit PINto be used to confirm that their wards have been vaccinated. Biometrics and other details of their wards will also be collected.
A SMS reminder will be sent to the caregiver weeks to, days to, and on day each of their ward is due for a particular vaccine.
When a caregiver brings her ward for vaccination, a biometric scan will be initiated to profile the caregiver, then the ward to be immunized will be selected. The caregiver then enters her pin to confirm that the ward has been vaccinated. The system generates a realtime report of immunizaton compliance per LGA in Nigeria for sensitization.

How is the idea unique? (750 Characters)
Presently in Nigeria, paper records are used to track and keep immunization records which are prone to damage. Cards issued to caregivers are paper-based which are also prone to damage and can be lost. There are no known electronic systems being used to register caregivers and their wards. and to track their immunization compliance rate. With ImmuneMe, caregivers need not be issued cards because their biometrics and other details will be collected during registration. Their biometric details will be used to log them in to the system. ImmuneMe also informs health workers, social workers, and government agencies of areas of low immunization compliance so that efforts to improve compliance level of these areas can be directed to there.
