Describe what you intend to do and how you'll do it in one sentence (required 250 Characters)

Caregivers provide 'Awareness' value by giving each child an immunization 'Shield' card with EXACTLY the right number of individually identified locations for immunization stickers/stamps.

Explain the idea (less than 2,000 characters)

Likely not every child's guardian understands exactly which and/or how many immunizations their child needs. Medical records are often hand-written and sometimes illegible. They also only indicate what has been done, and are less obvious about what remains to do. This 'Shield' card illustrates the child's immunization status, quickly, graphically and in a positive manner- 'Building up one's protection against disease'. A fully filled shield indicates 'completed immunization protection'. The applied stickers can contain the printed name of the vaccine and date.

This 'Shield' card is graphical and universal in its approach. The number and type of immunizations listed on the shield will necessarily be customized for each region.

Who are your end users and how well do you know them? (750 characters)

As the parent not directly involved in my children getting their vaccinations, I was always a bit mystified about which immunizations they had already received and which remained. This was largely a conversation between my wife and my child's pediatrician. I suspect this is fairly common.

How is the idea unique? (750 Characters)

Vaccination cards already exist. The novelty here is that this graphic is not just an open list of blanks, but an EXACT list of required vaccination blanks which can receive stickers/stamps so that status can be quickly determined by anyone at a glance.

Hi Robert Smith I like the simplicity and focus of the idea. I wonder if you have any suggestion on how to prototype this card in conjunction with the family photo idea that Youngbae Chee Wenlu Xu Ruolin Gou Priyanka and Garrett posted (PIC). I also can see this being used by Temba Vicent or Xinyu Chen and team
Looking forward how Shield can be prototyped and included in one of the ideas. Thanks!

Hi Anne-Laure Fayard ,
I appreciate the connections you're suggesting!
PIC was an inspiration for me with its emphasis on utilizing strong visuals. Immunization Shield could become a useful component within their idea and the others. I'll contact them.
Thanks for the comment! -Robert
