CDARH is to test the power of using artificial intelligence (chanjia) in improving the dissemination of immunization related information(reminders,where,when,frequency, vaccine reaction etc ) to care givers in the Rural Uganda.
Explain the idea (less than 2,000 characters)
Globally around 2.5 million deaths a year continue to be caused by vaccine-preventable diseases,mainly in Africa and Asia.In Uganda 45% of children(0-5 years) are not fully vaccinated(UHDS 2016) .This is highly attributed to ,Inadequate information on where and when to find immunization services,Lack of reliable reminder mechanism, bad perception about Immunization services (especially the wrong information about post Immunization side effects )by care givers among other factors .
Mrs Kyomuhendo Alice is mother of 12, who used not believe in Immunization of her children just because she was told if you immunize your child she will fall sick for 3 months by a friend .One day she saw a Tv advert saying if you have any question about Immunization please download our friendly health care adviser and ask her all .She downloaded Chanjia and on Registering she was sent a unique code(sms) which she was told to keep because she will always use it .The following Morning she woke-up wanting to get the truth about what her friend told her.She logged in and interaction between her and chanjia began and by end of the session she had come realize that what her friend had told her was wrong and Kyomuhendo was actually empowered on advantages of Child Immunization .This Changed her way of thinking about wrong Immunization perception and was convinced to take her last born James for immunization at the nearest health canter by Chanjia and went a head to direct and guide her on where and when to take James for Immunization . Four days to Immunization day ,Chanjia sent daily reminders (sms) to Kyomuhendo about time and date of the next Immunization exercise.Few days later Kyomuhendo met her friend Rodah a mother of 5 children upon sharing the news,Rodah got interested to chat with chanjia but did not have a smart phone,she was advised to call chanjia using her basic phone.she also came to know the truth.As I speak these two take their children for Immunizati

Who are your end users and how well do you know them? (750 characters)
Caregivers will interact with chanjia for any information on when ,where,various vaccine reactions ,vaccine frequency, will receive daily reminders(sms) four days before the next immunization day ,will be able to book appointment in advance or in case of delay with immunization center.
For example. Mrs Kyomuhendo Alice is mother of 12 who does not believe in Immunization and vaccination just because she was told if you immunize your child she will fall sick for three months by a friend.One day she saw a Tv advert about Chanjia . The interaction (question and answer) between chanjia and Alice was a game changer . Alice ended up transforming Alice's thinking from being adamant to vaccination to a village immunization champion.

How is the idea unique? (750 Characters)
Unlike other innovation in vaccination sector in Uganda chanjia is versatile that is for example Kyomuhendo who has a smart phone can access the services as Rodah who has a basic Phone( who gets it all by just a call to chanjia).
Chanjia can Mult-Task and can handle as many customers as possible for example both Kyomuhendo (who access through the application) and Rodah(who access through a call ) and other 100 million people of the kind can interact with her (chanjia ) at a go and everyone gets different information at ago.
Chanjia can communicate in either English or Luganda or Runyakore or Swahili and more languages are coming in version to favior people in DRC south sudan where we launching 2019/2020

We are are group of three women led organisations (Community Dental and Reproductive Health,Women Smile,Rap software solution) whose founders are victims of lack of immunization.The three Founders and organisations believe that Using Artificial Intelligence in spreading Information about immunization will reduce the misconception and will boost the uptake of Immunization services
Who will work alongside your organization in the project idea? (750 characters)
Women smile Uganda ; responsible for Training of communities about how to use Chanjia,they were and will be in-charge of collecting consumer feed back and they will still take it up when we are testing this innovation.
Community Dental and Reproductive Health,During Pilot ,she was(during pilot) and will be in-charge of identifying the health centers to take part,Took lead and will lead formulation of automated vaccine related information fed to Chanjia.
Rap software solutions ;will be in-charge of Maintaining and upgrade of Chanji .
Ministry of Health, Gavi,UNICEF ,Youth ConneKt Africa/UNDP ,UNFPA,Will lead the avail of vaccines to our partner health centers ,guide and recommend us during scale up in other countries

Dr.Shamim Nabuuma Kaliisa ,A medical Doctor by Profession with 5 years experience in Immunization Project for example she headed Immunize us Project by the IML and Community Dental & Reproductive Health in 2017,she Sits on the various local governments Vaccination /Immunization working groups and will use this expertise to introduce us to various ,health canters ,local government and Ministry of Health as well.
Miss Nakigozi Lilian ,Population studies expert with training and 7 years experience in community Mobilization and Empowerment for example she was the community Mobilization officer for the Cervical cancer vaccination Project by Youth for Today Uganda and we shall build on her experience to massively mobilize and train caregivers on the use of Chanjia.
Engineer Allen Musiimenta;Artificial Intelligence system expert with experience and Training in artificial intelligence system design and development .She will help us in maintaining ,upgrade of chanjia
