Training the youth and women entrepreneurship skills to do rabbit production and bi-products business for peace and prosperity
My contribution will be to provide land for building the training centre
Explain your project idea (2,000 characters)
The business idea is about Youth and Women in Rabbit production for Meat and other products. In Africa, Malawi in particular, the youth and women are politically used. The youth are usually used in committing political violence. This is because most of them have nothing that offer them income and they are easily enticed by politicians who give them meager salaries for a living whilst women are used as dancers in political rallies to entertain the politicians in political rallies. The time that the youth and the women spend in political rallies does not benefit them at all and they go back home with nothing to support their families. As an entrepreneur our idea is to work with the youth and women in different communities, training them in different economic and entrepreneurship mostly in Rabbit farming. This will teach them to solve poverty issues for themselves and their communities and bring in peace and prosperity in different areas both in urban and the rural. The concept is about having an interest in the future of meat market in Africa because meat is a big deal across Africa and African population is the fastest growing population. Rabbit meat has the highest amounts of protein, low fat, less calories and sodium than other meats. It contains more calcium and phosphorus, it is white meat. As a result of these properties rabbit meat has become super meat for most people who want to live a healthier lifestyle. The demand for rabbit is widely becoming high and there are less producers. The business will as well have a Rabbit Multiplication and Training Centre which will help the youth and women and other vulnerable groups to be trained in rabbit farming for income generating.

I grew up surrounded by the disadvantaged youths and women lacking opportunities, poverty stricken and poor health. Many of them misused by politicians and end up with HIV/AIDS infections since they are prone to different life challenges and become promiscuous. I embarked on developing a sense of social responsibility and desire to create a difference in the communities by starting a project to empower women that is creating employment opportunities, improving their health and staying focused.
Please explain how your selected topic areas are influenced, in the local context of your project (1,000 characters).
We believe women and the youth are the source of peace and prosperity in every nation. When women and the youth are empowered, communities are better equipped to cope with adversity, withstand crises, and make investments. Communities are safer, more prosperous, stable and have opportunities as compared to men. When women are empowered they feed the nations and bring positive change. It is statistically proven that there is high success rate when financing is targeted for women and the youth. Women and the youth often prove to be more financially responsible. Women and the youth are more likely to invest onto because they increase income in the household and family well being. The project will also help women and the youth to gain economical independence. Women and the youth are more vulnerable to HIV/Aids because they are poor hence the rich men exploit them. We are also looking at the poor women being most hurt with domestic violence because they are not economically independent
Who will work alongside your organization in the project idea? (1,000 characters)
KAPS Investments (Chimene Food Products) will work with training institutions like Universities and Colleges, Community development centres, NGOs, agricultural institutions and government departments. We will use participatory approach to train, and identify, the women and the youth from different communities and equip them with farming skills, trainings in economic and entrepreneurship skills. Give them rabbit breeding stock to start the business which then they will be selling to enterprise after the stock multiplies. They will have readily available market. This will help in solving poverty for themselves and their communities along with mentor-ship to develop and expand their enterprises and other future projects. We will see that there is continuity as we will come to help whenever problems arise because we will need more of the rabbits multiplied for our markets and we will not let any of those trained to slide on the way
Please share some of the top strengths identified in the community which your project will serve (500 characters)
Women and the youth are the most vulnerable in our societies. Some of the youth I have come across with tend to say they commit crimes not because they wish to but because they lack the will to drive them into doing things that can economically help them. Instead they go for what can easily help them at that particular time. Most of them are overtaken by peer pressure. As for women they are mostly the ones that feed their families and they would go for whatever little that may come.
The geographic focus is Malawi’s southern and eastern regions
