Explain your project idea (2,000 characters)

With plastic bottles set to top half a billion by 2021, there is an urgency to consider where these bottles will end up. Plastic bottles are detrimental to our oceans, coastlines, habitats and other environments. Without managing the final destination of these bottles, there will be a huge environmental crisis. So, to tackle this problem, we aim to use these highly recyclable objects made from polyethylene terephthalate to create sustainable housing. Whether it be for homeless individuals or becomes a trend in itself, our goal is to minimise the impact of plastic bottle wastage! The houses will be in the form of cylinders will wall made from recycled plastic bottles with sand inside them that can accomodate 2 individuals. By making them in this shape, we will create houses that are durable to challenging weather and climates.

Who are the beneficiaries? (1,000 characters)

Our beneficiaries are individuals of any age who have been displaced from their homes.

How is your idea unique? (1,000 characters)

Although there have already been houses made from plastic bottles in some parts of the world, our idea is unique in the sense that they are smaller and more individuated. Furthermore, the unique design of cylinders makes it easier to build, transport and install to different parts of the world.

Hello Hana!

I am Suraj proposing Anthropose eyewear: Building an effective after-use plastic economy, empowering single women, eye health and public school system.

Your idea to build houses with plastic bottles is a good initiative. However, after reading your proposal I still had few queries. May be adding where your proposed project would be, the beneficiaries and your partners would make your proposal more defined.
