Explain your project idea (2,000 characters)

Our idea is focusing on providing full package business technical assistance to women and youth in rural Tanzania for them to be employable or establish a viable business for inclusive growth.
We recruit women and youth, train them and assist them in establishing or growing their ventures by giving them capital in form of soft loans from our revolving fund, mentor them and connect them with markets of their goods and services.

The challenge we are looking forward to solve is the lack of competitive productive skills, business skills and unavailability of Tanzania produced goods in the global market. This solution will help in integrating women and youth businesses in the global supply chain while improving their lives and prevent distortion of peace in the future to economic inequality.
Normally we we closely work and grow with them by being a shareholder for three before they graduate as independent bankable business.
To reach more people Africa Crown through SEED is looking forward to benefit large group of people by assisting small holders to form associations and produce as one while we control quality and connect them to the markets. As we speak, we are in negotiations with individual processors of coconut oil to form an association for the purpose of improving both quality and quantity and connect them with EA Trade hub to be included in the East Africa suppliers database as well as art and craft and textile to be able to enter foreign markets through existing regional agreements such as African Union, SADC, East Africa Community and AGOA.

Who are the beneficiaries? (1,000 characters)

Women (18-40 years) and Youth (18 -35 years) in Tanzania but priority is for those living in rural part of Tanzania where we have Simiyu Tailors Alliance (STA) made up of 35 women and Three small scale leather goods producers and one sweaters weaver.
They will benefit by getting training on world quality products requirements, connection to markets, access to fund for required production machines and continuous business mentor-ship for 3 years before they graduate from the program.

How is your idea unique? (1,000 characters)

SEED focuses on for profit making investments driven by SGD goal 5 and 8 by implementing a combination of our two unique models Cluster Management Model and We Grow Together Model where we identify those doing similar things at a low scale and bring them together, formalize them and assist as one, while on the other hand we in each business we inject fund we become shareholders for a fixed time of 3 years making sure the business is professionally managed and profitable. After three years all business become our multiplier effect on the ground by becoming mentors of new recruits. The entire model of operations make us unique compared to existing related programs where beneficiaries are assisted in one element only and can not be mapped for impact assessment. For us we want to ensure sustainability and cost effectiveness in implementation.
Advantage: we are local women owners understanding culture and practice in working with local women and youth and dealing with experienced problem

I grew up in the village fully of poverty back in 1980's yet the situation is still the same in the outskirt, much more women the key household bread winners in rural areas are neither recognized nor provided opportunity to improve their living standard. Youth are falling in the same poverty trap due to unemployment challenges. Since i was lack to see opportunities its time to share with rural community in my country.

Please explain how your selected topic areas are influenced, in the local context of your project (1,000 characters).

Peace is influenced by equality within the society. Empowering these two special groups in the society will prevent political unrest, hate between haves and non haves and keep peace and harmony while increasing respect to women who are currently exploited due to their inferior economic position in the society.

Who will work alongside your organization in the project idea? (1,000 characters)

Our company is a two women owned company and we work closely with local government in each local level we implement project.
In technical capacity due to our financial challenge we work in an informal relationship with the Institute of Finance Management in Tanzania
