RECIPROCITY AS A MEANS OF DEVELOPMENT
RECIPROCITY IS THE LINK BETWEEN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Explain your project idea (2,000 characters)
The idea of the project is to generate a virtuous circle in which the factors involved are the massive creation of social startups, society in general and the beneficiaries of the project.
The idea is to create a SOCIAL ENTERPRISE B of water production and sale, because it is the most feasible in economic terms, of time and profitability, due to the growth of the demand for this product in the Bolivian market. 50% of the profits will be used to help children with disabilities and serious illnesses, which is one of the disadvantaged sectors of the Bolivian health system, because people between 5 and 60 years of age do not have social security Universal and private insurance are too expensive. Meanwhile the remaining 50% will be used to promote the creation, development and growth of social startups by financing seed capital or operations. In exchange for the resources allocated to a social startup, a percentage of participation in that startup will be obtained and, in turn, this percentage will be allocated to the two causes mentioned above.
Example: SOCIAL ENTERPRISE "B" AGUITA is created, it obtains a profit in its first year of $ 20,000, of these, $ 10,000 is destined to collaborate with economic resources to children with disabilities or serious diseases selected to be the first beneficiaries. The remaining $ us10,000 is used to finance an innovative startup in exchange for a 50% stake in it. So for the following year, as we now have a new startup that is contributing with resources, we will have $ us 40,000 available, of which $ 20,000 will be allocated to collaborate with economic resources to the beneficiary children and the remaining $ 20,000 will be used to finance 2 startups. And so on in 3 years there will be $ 80,000 available and 8 startups financed; The fourth year will have $ 160,000 and 16 startups funded, and so on. In this way, as the available economic resources increase, different social causes in health and education can be financed.
Who are the beneficiaries? (1,000 characters)
Our beneficiaries during the first phase of implementation of the project are: Young entrepreneurs and innovators from the city of La Paz who are between 18 and 35 years old, and who have an idea, a business plan and the dream of being able to create and develop a startup On the other hand, the main beneficiaries are Bolivian children between 5 and 15 years old with disabilities and serious illnesses, and whose families do not have enough resources to face the necessary medical expenses.
In the following stages, the groups of beneficiaries will expand as resources increase. In stage 2, the beneficiaries will be the rural communities of the Altiplano, whose contamination by untreated wastewater and organic solid waste, affects Lake Titicaca, which is the symbol of the Bolivian and Peruvian highlands, whose contamination has led in recent years to countless environmental and economic losses. The construction of mixed treatment plants for wastewater and organic waste will be financed.
How is your idea unique? (1,000 characters)
The idea is unique because it raises fundamental objectives for the development of Bolivia. The first is the creation of social startups, since currently Bolivia is the only country in South America where the central government and private companies do not allocate any economic resources for the development and strengthening of startups. Then, it is intended to support startups with economic resources in a modality of "investor angels" but with the aim of allocating the resources obtained by these investments to help with economic resources to children with serious illnesses and disabilities, whose families do not have the sufficient economic resources.
The model is unique because it is a self-sustaining model with constant growth, based on the solidarity economy, and in which year after year the number of beneficiaries and the social causes of support can be increased, without depending on donations. nor of state resources.

The motivation is based on own experiences. For 2 years now I have been looking for financing to develop this social startup without any success. Then I observe that in my Bolivia there is no support for entrepreneurs.
Also, because I have a close cousin with a disability, I was able to observe from a young age the suffering of families faced with the impossibility of paying expensive medical treatment for their children, especially when there is no universal health insurance in Bolivia.
Please explain how your selected topic areas are influenced, in the local context of your project (1,000 characters).
The prosperity of low-income families that have children with disabilities or serious illnesses has been affected by the inability to pay the medical expenses involved in the respective treatments, medications, and others. Many parents even access loans that are impossible to pay, mortgaging the few properties they have to pay for these treatments. Other parents stop working to help their children, seek help and get donations. All this deepens the poverty of families.
The economic prosperity of Bolivia has been affected by the lack of policies, actors involved and economic resources for the development of Startups, which currently constitute the main means of development in several countries.
The planet has been affected by the lack of wastewater treatment. In this case, Lake Titicaca, which is one of the main tourist destinations in Bolivia, has been heavily contaminated by wastewater from the surrounding towns
