Explain your project idea (2,000 characters)
Enabled Communities strives to make the world a better place by connecting every abled person with those disabled by poverty, war, natural disaster or causes. The project helps to open the eyes, heart and soul of the community to see, act, respond and help people who face disability as a result of war, violence, natural disaster or stricken by poverty.
The project uses a mobile app that has two promoters. Enabled and Disabled. Through the prompters, those who are not physically challenged can receive help request from those who are challenged by physical or other disabilities. Users who face disability will be prompted to share their needs, eg food, housing, mobility, health, education, finances and so individuals in the communities will be easily prompted to identify by ticking which area of need they can help out with.
The app can be accessed by anyone and it will be easy to use. It can also show location and further information if services are needed for the disabled.
With the sometimes protracted process and delay in humanitarian relief and support, this one-on-one assistance to those hit by war, or struck by disasters or other natural causes as well as poverty can have their lives uplifted by their neighbors and communities and perhaps even beyond those towns and villages to the world community.
The initiative brings a quick solution to the needs of the most vulnerable and allow us to love our neighbors through acts of kindness and generosity
Who are the beneficiaries? (1,000 characters)
The beneficiaries are disabled persons, and those who face poverty, due to war, environmental challenges starting from Freetown Sierra Leone
How is your idea unique? (1,000 characters)
The idea is unique because it's a direct giving opportunities that effectively helps to assuage the plight of those who cam ill-afford due to the disabilities they face or due to war or environmental challenges as well as poverty. It is also a swift response that connects the beneficiaries with individials in tje community as well as the world. The initiative also makes urgent action relief available and touches on the very core of our humanity to help others in need and inspires many to give as well as love their neighbors. Whilst many relief options provide one time relief or the process may take such a long time for affected individuals and communities to receive aid or relief supplies etc, the solution overleaps this huddles and bureaucracy by inspiring hearts to give directly in communities.
The solution provides further ways giving and receiving relief can be made simpler, direct and easy and help supplement other efforts in totally innovative and meaningful ways

In 3-4 sentences, tell us the inspiration or story that encouraged you to start this project.
I was born and raised in Sierra Leone where the civil war resulted in the amputation of thousands of people and I was moved to help. Although I have worked to address many global issues such as helping former child soldiers reintegrate to civil society via peaceful means and other post-war effects, I realized that victims of amputation were almost forgotten. With the help of my organization, I started the support to survivors of amputation and the digital hope project to assist these victims.
Please explain how your selected topic areas are influenced, in the local context of your project (1,000 characters).
'Peace is not only a core human value, but a core human rights'. My ideas stand at the intersections between peace and the human rights of people to live a life filled with love and compassion and hope. With a stable and peaceful environment, people can heal, can recuperate, thrive and gain the resources they need to build their lives back. By weaving community support through inspiring and igniting those who are able to give, all of us will be enabled to live in prosperity and peace. For far too long, our local community has been reeling from the effects of war, Ebola, poverty and natural causes with the recent flooding and mud slide. The clarion call for relief aid was overwhelming but it was the local support and efforts that became an immediate salve in the wounds to help the victims. With an approach towards caring and loving and giving, with an approach to peace and a more engaged communities to serve those who need help, instant relief support can really make a difference
Who will work alongside your organization in the project idea? (1,000 characters)
The idea starts with communities in Sierra Leone where previous projects have helped to successfully build peace in the minds of those who were left disabled via the violence of war. We will build upon these efforts and improve our local communities and spread across the world. Previous projects like the support to survivors of amputation and the digital hope project to assist these victims can attest substantially how these projects have worked with local communities to make a difference in the lives of the beneficiaries. The B-Gifted foundation has developed many tools, including, for example the imaginative use of technology to give war amputees needed skills so that they can rebuild their lives as well as their country, and raise the resources they need to carry out their dreams. B-Gifted also helps war victims by documenting their personal stories, and in that process gives them hope. Now the scourge of Ebola has hit this poor country adding to the conflagration of the civil war.
