Explain your project idea (2,000 characters)

Often, the simplest ideas are the best. This is about creating an application and platform dedicated to conflicts. The purpose of the application is to prevent a conflict (often, wars start with small conflicts), the goal being to make all voices heard. Let's use technology to bring people together. Indeed, we have seen that Facebook is increasingly used during the birth of conflicts. But, Facebook is not optimal for this and the messages are little or badly heard. Our idea is to build an adapted space where conflicts can be immediately reported to journalists (local / international), NGOs and sometimes the police. Often, information travels badly and does not reach the right person at the right time. We want to change that and prevent conflicts from growing. Our platform will have this service: ( and it will be similar in some ways to Facebook). - Users can log in and contact directly all NGO/ or journalist they want. - Users can send pictures and vidéos trough the platform. - They can open discussion and create forum for their topic. - They can ask for a moderator. To resume our idea, it's a platform where it will be possible to send informations to the right people. A tools, nothing else.

Who are the beneficiaries? (1,000 characters)

The beneficiaries will be the inhabitants of the most remote towns and villages. Those who do not have a "voice" precisely. For example, it may be police-struck students in Dakar, Senegal, or victims of police violence in Ukraine. We will put in place a system where it will not be necessary to have a smartphone, but a simple cell phone (GSM) will suffice.

How is your idea unique? (1,000 characters)

Our idea is unique because we want to create something who will bring together and unite humanitarian actors. They are too isolated from each other. Our idea is innovating because we will create a new thing from something who already exist. We think it will be a perfect tools for many organization. A kind of a social media dedicated to conflict. A great data base for non-profit organization. Something useful, for sure.

Idea Proposal Stage (choose one)

  • Initial Design: I am exploring the idea, gathering the inspiration and information I need to test it with real users.

Tell us more about your organization/company (1 sentence and website URL)

Our organization is composed of a team of 5 peoples, working in NGO and different associations. For now, we don't have yet a website. But we are working on it.

Expertise in sector

  • 3-5 years

Organization Filing Status

  • No, but we plan to register in the future.

In 3-4 sentences, tell us the inspiration or story that encouraged you to start this project.

I have a degree in Political Science and completed my end-of-study internship in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I noticed at that time how people can be isolated from the media and journalists. They feel they have no voice or no voice. The idea of giving them a place and a "speaker" has become an idea that has developed over time. Today, with hindsight, I see what impact such an application could have around the world. Sometimes, simple conflicts degenerate quickly because the parties did not get

Please explain how your selected topic areas are influenced, in the local context of your project (1,000 characters).

Our project can help city and community to stay in peace or at least to work on their conflict, by communication. The prosperity of a nation is also about peace and woking on it will serve definitely the peace.

Who will work alongside your organization in the project idea? (1,000 characters)

We cannot provide you a great example but the way how organisation try to communicate about their work, it's already a "proof of concept " for us.

Please share some of the top strengths identified in the community which your project will serve (500 characters)

The top strengths is our strong network on NGOs and organization. We will start to work with them at the beginning because they have tools and people, the only thing they don't have, it's a direct bridge with the population they want help.

Geographic Focus

Our solution can be effective in USA or in Africa. But, probably, we 'll start in Africa, Senegal.

How many months are required for the project idea? (500 characters)

In 3 month, we can build the platform and the app. The next 3 month will be the time to list all NGOs, associations and organizations in our database. After that, we will communicate and promote our solution to the media. After that, we will work an improve the way people use our solution.

Conceptually I find this idea very interesting Nes Von Aissa
1. Can you clarify why can't people use facebook (FB) or twitter (t) to voice their incidents?
2. What makes your app better than using the already existing services (FB, t)?
3. What if you build on existent social platforms? For instance, if I report an incident, others in FB or t could comment on it, add more detail/perspectives making the incident better described and at the same time validate it to some extent.

My understanding is : Older cell phones ( that neither have browser nor a smartphone) -can be used to text a specific number, that is received and published via an alert system . If GPS/Location sensing is available, then message from 2 or more people can be grouped for accuracy to determine locality and the severity of the incident.

what you say makes sense in the context of cell phones without browser/apps. However, the solution discussed is an app, even "similar in some ways to Facebook".

Hi Vasu- Exactly, for older cell phones, it will be just a free specific number just to show the location to the situation.
