This paper constraint in empowering marginalize young women contributed by early pregnancy and child forcing marriage with old man and young man that doesn’t have ability in handling family basic needs. Marginalizing is household aged between 16-25 years old. Beneficiaries joined in 5 groups with 147 Beneficiaries. These people don’t have any income activities to help them to obtain their basic needs. They live in depending support from her parents. All groups selected live in rural area of Busega District – Simiyu regional. Simiyu have Five District namely, Busega,Bariadi, Maswa, meatu and Itilima. In Simiyu regional, child marriage is widespread, one-third of girls being married before age of 18 and one in nine being married before the adult age, that contributing with Gender based violence (GBV) All of these a practice that is driven by rural poverty, social norms, and discrimination against women and girls. These consequences include: girls dropping out of school; health risks that result from early sexual activity and pregnancy, including sexually transmitted diseases and maternal mortality; being prevented from taking advantage of economic opportunities; and if they have children, child malnutrition and mortality. There is also concern that child marriage deprives girls of their basic human rights and puts them at risk for harmful practices and disadvantage, including exploitation, intimate partner violence, and abuse. Given these concerns, there is increasing interest in efforts to empower marginalize young women in low and middle-income countries in order to protect their human rights and the overall wellbeing of women and children through ending Gender Based Violence(GBV). Women farming cooperatives have been establishing in other ward after completed the program, girls, young women and women shares knowledge, supporting each other in ending gender based violence and poultry as income generating activities.

Is program to be implemented in Tanzania, it has two years time frame. Targeting to enhancing rural poultry production farming through households’ income empowerment. Beneficiaries are Marginalize young women joined in 5 groups with 147 Beneficiaries aged between 16-25 years. Program strengthens family financial system, Child nutrition, food security, health through meet and eggs. The program will use gender approach stems from a theory of change that women’s increasing decision making capacity, self efficacy, and influence over household. In this program, poultry has been an appropriate means of promoting gender equality and empowerment.

How is your idea unique? (1,000 characters)

The active participation of Busega youth poultry farmers, marginalize young women farmers group makes the program sustainable after the initial funding phase. The project takes place in the villages, by using the traditionally kept indigenous species and utilizing the existing farming systems and the project centre started. Farmers are owner decision makers and in control of the centers. Acquisition of breed stock (live birds and fertile eggs) from project centers and breeder farmers include traditional stock sharing systems locally known as IFOGONG’O as Sukuma language found at the area. IFOGONG’O is like savings and credit cooperative. (SACCOS). The project ensured marginalize young women farmers all categories got access to species of their need. The vaccinator program controlled, been simple and affordable to farmers through cash payment and other method of payment agreed by the IFOGONG’O. Young women farmers gained control of sales of birds at project centers.

FODEO established to facilitate in development supporting and promoting in mainland area of the United Republic of Tanzania. FODEO registered by Tanzania law Made under section 12(2) of Act No 24 of 2002. Reg No. 00003431 of 17th, September, 2009. FODEO was established in 2009 and changed name from Magu. Constraite reducing relative poverty and other inequalities that cause social exclusion especially for women, girls and children in rural areas Simiyu - Tanzania.

Negotiation sessions between the organization staff and young women groups on find development challenges, they complain about income in their family. That is was an introduction begins on generating power to create development groups, which enable them to work cooperatively. In this program, poultry has been an appropriate means of promoting gender equality and empowerment. At the area and more household will engage in poultry farms.

Organization collaborating with Evangelical Mennonite church of Tanzania, African inland church Tanzania (AICT) and Seventy day Adventist church (SDA). When we operating activities, FODEO engages the area pastor as project term work. They provide church hall for meetings, lobbying and advocacy in community on project engagements.

Since organization registered to current, experienced on many project implementing in self or partners in implementer. Some project implemented in the area are program funded by USAID through John Hopking program named Behaviors changes Communication (BCC) with partner Tanzania Communication and Development Centre (TCDC) The target Program are ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all , end the epidemics of AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria and other Communicable diseases, maternal and child mortality. FODEO has good relationship between Local Government, community and other organization like Amani girls home and Nabroho for society aged

Please share some of the top strengths identified in the community which your project will serve (500 characters)

Literacy skills through young women poultry farming. Poultry farming education with supported fund from any donor goes to make the group acquire knowledge and skills that will enable them to start raising poultry activities. Education will be transit to generation to generation, like India was able to reduce poverty to his people after improved rearing chickens. Engagement on young women in poultry activities after got good education on hens keeping all household family women and men all of them

On age bracket 16-25 for beneficiaries, does it covers the entire population from the intending location? What about those under 16 and over 25 in some cases ? What is the actual age for a contractual agreement for necessity in your country?

Hi Have you considered age below 16 and above 25 in your area. What is the rational for limiting the age without considering 12-16 who are the most affected in most developing  countries of the world?

I thinks we should first study the actual affected population in your chosen area?
