Explain your project idea (2,000 characters)

The project is based totally on recycled textile. This will be distributed in public schools and most of the early starters don't have access to toys nor playmats nor afford it. With the supply, it will help make learning fun and easier for their teachers and parents. As the early years have access to this it will help in their brain development as a more friendly environment has been created. The production will also be carried out by people who are less privileged after being trained as this will create jobs for them.

We also find that coming together around babies is a great strategy for community building, strengthening social capital, promoting early childhood well-being and nurturing civic capacity - both within neighborhoods and the broader community. (https://challenges.openideo.com/challenge/bridgebuilder2/ideas/neighborkid-changemakers) Your idea of connecting fashion designers and tailors with young children and families in your community - through the use of an available asset, in terms of textiles - is quite creative! It seems like it could be very consistent with Asset-Based Community Development.

Yes,it will be consistent because clothing is a necessary factor and from this part of Africa, textile is a priority to everyone.
As the world is suddenly awakening to the continual rise in crime and crisis, it has been observed that the little one isn't really cared for but the early years is actually the life moulding stage of human. So many factors contribute to adults and young adults being involved in crime and many of these have always been traced down to the early stage.
As an environmentalist, I believe recycling isn't just for physical benefits but goes further into social, emotional and structural benefits. It really isn't just what you can get from the environment but what you can give to put a smile on a face.
Having something to call my own is priceless and this is general for human nature. Providing these toys and playmats for the early years not only make them happy but changes their feelings of having a sense of belonging, material security and safe haven to play and be aware of another like them.
