In this initiative, community members who are interested in participating will sign up to share a meal with another person, couple, or family who also lives in their community. The aim is to pair participants whose identities vary in some way. The "differences" could be based on gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, race, ethnic background, socio-economic status, etc.
When two parties are matched by the organization, their match will be communicated to each of them and contact information will be shared. The two parties will contact each other to plan their meal together. The meal can take place at a public space, like a restaurant, or one party can host the other in their own home (recommended). The parties should discuss any dietary restrictions and preferences but both should be open to trying something new.
If hosted at one's home, the host can be responsible for providing the meal or the parties can decide on a more potluck style meal where they both provide a part of the meal. In addition, they could also choose for the first party to host and provide for their first meeting, and switch roles for the second meeting.
