My target beneficiaries are rural women from 14-35 years selected from northern parts of Nigeria. We carried out a need assessment survey in twelve selected communities and the findings revealed that 65% of women are not in any form of direct employment and 55% of the women depend on their male counterparts for financial support for their daily living. Our findings revealed this is as a result of lack of skill training and access to technology use. It is our firm commitment to end this trend by providing practical training in food processing so as to equip these women with the needed skills, training and support to make them start their own businesses within three months after the training. We will provide business planning alongside the training to make the women attract the needed basic capital from the savings and loan companies. Obtaining loans for startup enterprises have been a challenge so we have designed standard business planning guide that would make them access loans.

Hello Jummai,
You have a point, I was thinking you should identify some products based on the targeted audience (women) in Northern Nigeria. It is possible to actually train women without the passion and the impact will not be felt at the end. Good enough you have identified a problem of Unemployment and you suggest to tackle same with food processing: do you think majority of your beneficiary will be passionate in food processing? do they have the capacity (capital) to start after the training, that is if they are have the passion ? What will be their hope for funding after the training on food processing? and what type of food will they prefer given their respective locations with effective demand.
