Explain your project idea (2,000 characters)

The idea has three stages: Stage 1) Many organizations today recognize the value of Corporate Social Responsibility to increase their bottom line. Through increased brand awareness, employee empowerment and community action, corporations can set themselves apart. The first phase of the platform we're building is a whitelabeled intranet for employees to create, manage and market social initiatives, while allowing the corporation to have insight into the impact, ROI and engagement from those initiatives. Stage 2) After getting some traction and improving the platform through feedback and QA, the network would be expanded beyond just employees to the general public. This will allow more inter-organizational partnerships, brand awareness and social validation for impact skills. Stage 3) Adding blockchain and AI to the mix, this platform could 1) help give value to an "ImpactToken" which would be given out for initiatives generating real impact and funded through corporates setting aside money or through private investors; 2) promote personal transformation through an AI chatbot guiding and recommending users through their respective journeys; and 3) multiply impact through the network effect and help investment get mobilized in a more effective and efficient way.

Who are the beneficiaries? (1,000 characters)

The beneficiaries for the initial stage of the idea will be employees of our beta organizations and the organization itself. In time, the beneficiaries and those helping the beneficiaries (through their personal transformation and impact) will be one and the same - all of humanity!

How is your idea unique? (1,000 characters)

Our platform, unlike other social networks, prioritizes, engages and incentivizes offline impact over online engagement. In addition, by licensing to and proving out a business model with corporations as a go-to-market strategy first, we can be a fully self-sufficient and self-evolving platform even with our social impact vision. Other platforms are either too big or too narrow in their vision to carry out something of this scope/scale. Our organization of like-minded, heart-first individuals has been working on this for 2.5+ years, building out an MVP and securing partnerships with corporations by pure bootstrapping and hustle and are driven, not daunted, by the vision.

Idea Proposal Stage (choose one)

  • Pilot: I have started to implement the idea as a whole with a first set of real users.

In 3-4 sentences, tell us the inspiration or story that encouraged you to start this project.

Our team is driven and inspired by a spiritual guru who proclaimed "Love All, Serve All" and has established free schools, hospitals and abodes of peace throughout the world. We believe the world is ready for a wholesale transformation on a personal, community and global level, and we are just instruments in helping bring about that growth and change.

Please explain how your selected topic areas are influenced, in the local context of your project (1,000 characters).

A platform of our scope and scale will impact all three topic areas. For example, Prosperity, by more effective and socially conscious use of funds; Peace, by a more engaged and inclusive community serving for each other and the greater good; and Planet, by encouraging and incentivizing more environmentally conscious corporate initiatives and brand awareness.

Who will work alongside your organization in the project idea? (1,000 characters)

As described above for Stage 1, corporations and organizations who are putting their money where their mouth is in regards to Corporate Social Responsibility will be our beta customers. Through this process, we will be able to refine our product and services (not to mention gain traction to raise a funding round) before making it available for more organizations and the general public. We forsee that there may arise opportunities for us to partner with everyone from governments and NGOs to rag-tag groups and individuals to incite large-scale inspiration and change.

Please share some of the top strengths identified in the community which your project will serve (500 characters)

Our community is at first, corporations with a demonstrated quantitative interest in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. This community is unparalleled in terms of access to capital, deploying to as many empowered users and generating and measuring real impact.

Geographic Focus

At first, just the areas of where our beta organizations are located but eventually the whole world.

How many months are required for the project idea? (500 characters)

Stage 1: 12 months Stage 2: 12-36 months Stage 3: 36+ months

Did you submit this idea to our 2017 BridgeBuilder Challenge? (Y/N)

It is my take, that you would indeed need to put much more action to your otherwise good proposal.

I was very inspired by your idea of creating a social network, but, your idea does not really tell how that social network should work.

We have as I write here, more than 200 social networks, world wide, with LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook as some of the most known. NONE of these networks are really social, so there, I think you have a point.

However, you have not in any of your 3 stages pointed out how your social network shall work, that is, hands on.

So, I propose that you really get down to the concrete basics of your idea.

You say that you are in pilot with several users. Now, I would need to know what you are actually doing with your current users, as you write. You have not referred to anything practical, you have not provided screen shots of the solution you are right now trying with concrete users.

Please provide such information, such that we can assist you in implementation?

Thank you for your feedback :)

More details on how the social network would function:
- Users would be able to search for and join events / initiatives and filter by location, time and areas of interest
- Users could also create and manage their own events / initiatives, setting the requirements for people/teams, resources and tasks and having interested users sign up for those items
- Users could engage with and share inspiring stories with others who share similar passions through groups, events / initiatives message boards
- Once events are done, the event organizer(s) could input the impact metrics and if an organization is involved / tagged, they could add it to their impact dashboard and share with their stakeholders as they see fit as part of their CSR initiatives
- Not implemented yet, but when a user first registers, they would take a short onboarding quiz (think what Quora does) to assess what they're interested in and what they would like to get out of their participation on the platform. This would help us recommend events / discussions tailored for that user. This "quiz" could be customized for each company, or there would be a standard one for a public user.
- Not implemented yet, but the user's profile page would include all events participated in, with the role / resources contributed and impact caused. Other users could validate those contributions and help the user stand out (think LinkedIn profile, but tailored to actual impact).

To be clear, we have one client which has been using the system for a few months now with a few hundred users and are generating 10-15 events per month - and trending upward! We have rolled out mobile applications on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store for this client as well!

Dear Sathvik,

We propose, that you share with us your system, platform, social network, as you are already running it. It could go a very long way in promoting it :-)...
