Foundation for an Inclusive development (FInD)
FInD is all about achieving sustainable economic inclusion of the deprived populations for safier and peaceful communities.
FInD would open Community Inclusive Centers (C.I.C) -known as i2B: from idea to Business- in rural regions acroos Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire). Community Inclusive Centers would be a kind of incubators designed for farmers and their families. C.I.C would help these populations achieve economic inclusion and prosperity for a better life. Concretely speaking C.I.C would offer trainings in leadership and entrepreneurship along with services of microcredit (Inclusive Funding for opportunities - InFO)to allow farmers and their children afford funding for ventures' growth.
Explain your idea
FInD through the Community Inclusive Centers wants to make tools for economic prosperity available and affordable to rural populations. C.I.C works like traditional incubators with the particularity that the staff would help first the farmers and their families turn ideas into ventures and secondly assist them in growing their businesses. The microfinance institution would help with financing (both seed and additional) to take the businesses off the ground. In doing so FInd would allow farmers and their families live a better life and get a better share of their endeavors. Agriculture represent 55% of the country gross domestic product (GDP) . And about 40% of the population who are working in the agricultural sector are among the most poor of the nation.
Farmers and their families represent the beneficiaries of this project. They would make more profits from their agricultural activty as ventures would transform a share of their crops into semi-finished products and sell them with an added value.
How is your idea unique?
Incubators are common platforms for startup and ventures around the world. Most of the time they offer the necessary facilities and servicess to entrepreneurs to run their startup at the early stage. With C.I.C, FInd comes with a new paradigm consisting in changing gross agricultural products sellers into agribusiness owners. It's all about making of agriculture professionals agribusinessmen by taking incubators from cities to villages for a true growth rate which impacts the living standards of people as well as their local economy.
