ICT Training for girls with Disabilities
In order to achieve prosperity for all we must ensure everyone has an opportunity for employment and ICTs offer such a solution for girls.
Explain your idea
The gender gap in the I.T profession goes further than seeing few women
among a company’s tech team, it also spans rarely seeing women with
Disabilities as part of the tech team. If we would like to close this gap, we
need to work from the bottom up, we need to start exposing and encouraging
girls with Disabilities to join the I.T profession.
In today's technological world the ability to learn I.T skills amounts to personal
capital and we need to equip more girls with Disabilities with lifelong personal
capital. It is believed capital is a primary pre-requisite to being a successful
entrepreneur, contributor to national development, creator of a successful
nation and find purpose
The "target audience" are girls with Disabilities from age 10 to 19, and the
aim of “Girls with Disabilities in ICT” project is to cover girls in this age bracket
by providing one introduction to computers class per week, and then coding,
web development and blogging classes on weekends and holiday camps to
bring all the girls together with respect to their Dis-Ability and with this done
we shall surely achieve a 50/50 gender balance in the I.T profession and
How is your idea unique?
