It's time farmer take better and smarter decisions!

IFarmer has been engineered and programmed, to be installed in farms and monitor multiple soil and ambient parameters. The device has capability to accommodate more than 10 sensors, 7 of which are already developed and rest will become a part of it once developed. The design is fairly simple with plug and play sensors. The device is powered with solar and smart batteries enabling smooth operations of IFarmer.

IFarmer can detect following parameters:
- Ambient Temperature
- Humidity
- Soil Temperature
- Moisture
- pH of Soil
- Conductivity of Soil
- Light Intensity
Farmer's Lab team of engineers and scientists has developed smart algorithms that support the system to not only sense but answer many smart questions as what crops to grow, how often to water, which fertilizer to use ,how much to grow and foretell farm’s future. The device is a R2D2 from Starwars enabling us to know everything we need to know about the soil and let us know what it all means. Each IFarmer node, talks to the local server via modern, long range RF transceivers "LORA". The main server is in turn connected to our main server through LAN or 3G/4G technology.

WHO BENEFITS?

The device is going to benefit not only large scale producers and farmers but small scale farmers will enjoy too. The chance of failure to grow would minimize and production would maximize. It would also bring comfort to researchers and agriculturist who require real time soil testing of a certain region and its impact on the crops. The students can take advantage of the device to create farmer-bots that talk to farmers and helpful to take smarter decisions, using our data.

WHERE WILL YOUR IDEA BE IMPLEMENTED?

IFarmer would start its operation in the Punjab region, where much of Pakistan's agriculture takes place. It will later on be expanded to other regions of the country and promise agriculture revolution.

We are a startup named "FarmersLab" and have "iFarmer" as our first product. We are working on developing smart technology to help farmers all around the world by helping them in increasing the production, lowering the cost and in return increasing their income.

It has been ages and technological advancements have paved its way in making our lives easier and better. Accessibility of information is no more an issue. We do not have to wait a month or two to get to hear about the family members across the oceans, where now through modern technology it only takes seconds to send messages. But when it comes to agriculture, we are still as outdated as we were years from today. The flow of information from research to farmers is inadequate. Farmers have an inevitable need for various types of information to perform their farming activities in an effective way.

Information technology is serving as a great potential to improve decision making in agriculture and has become a vital source for management and success in all the phases of agricultural industry. Accessibility of research, information, weather, land has made no difference at all. We at Farmer's Lab realized the gap and striving to take farming to a whole new level. With months of research, sensor development and prototyping, we came up with "IFARMER", world’s first and only real time soil sensing tool, which does so much more than just sensing.

We believe that this never heard of device is going to revolutionize how farming is done. Using data provided by the scientists working on the fields, our systems would tend to grow smarter and result positively impacting the health and production of the farm. It is going to be a new door way for farmer-bots of the future.

The device can further be expanded and more modules can be added which will result in extended applications including automated irrigation, anti-insect spray and fertilizer use.

Where will your idea be implemented?

IFarmer would start its operation in the Punjab region, where much of Pakistan's agriculture takes place. We plan to target farmers who are using the technique of tunnel farming and more. We already have identified and communicated to certain customers; they not only appreciated and realized the need of this system but showed willingness in being among the first ones to install it on their farms.

Expertise in sector:

We are currently head team of two energetic experts. Mubsher Hassan who is the founder and CEO has spent a life time working in and for the agriculture sector of Pakistan. With experiences ranging from dairy and farming, he has knowledge of every bit of this sector. He has matured multiple startups from scratch and currently is working in revolutionizing the farming industry of Pakistan. Farmer's Lab, lead teach young gentleman Hamza Afridi is working as CTO. With experience in working on multiple embedded system platforms, power electronics, communication, he is the perfect match for developing IFarmer as an ultimate product.

Experience in implementation:
Mr. Mubsher Hassan has the experience of running a milk shop and a contract of milk supply with  a multinational firm. He is currently leading Pakistan’s first funded farmers’ collaborative platform, Farmers Network. With his contacts and experience, IFarmer is going to go places!

Mubsher is a self-made person, working in the field of farming for more than 10 years. His love and passion for the industry has set his aims to revolutionize the outdated farming techniques and bring forth technologies and researches that would greatly affect his mission statement in a positive way.

Hamza Afridi, has the love for electronics. During his study at the university, he has developed multiple products ranging from pocket amplifiers to ping pong trainers. He has thirst of knowledge and has always loved taking up challenges. He always has a keen desire to make new things that would create worldwide impact. With his passion and dedication, IFarmer is tending to succeed!
