TELL US MORE ABOUT YOU!

Iam an individual working for an organization called Agribusiness Systems International based in Lusaka,Zambia.

To design a software which can be installed on Ipad, phone or computer with the ability to capture crop data.

When the farmer wants to plan he/she can input the data into the software to know what inputs are required and when they are supposed to be applied. This helps the farmer plan and budget for the inputs.

It reduces on crop loss as the farmer has validated information and is able to plan ahead. This also reduces the cost of inquiry and in areas where there are few extension staff, the farmer can still make their own estimates and apply the right inputs.

Hi Chabota,

I was just commenting on Logan's idea about Precision Ag.  I think it goes right along with what you are saying.  I'd like to hear more about how to put this into practice.  Combined with Brent's database and my mapping, I think this has a lot of potential.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Chabota, great idea. You may want to consider Gordon McCambridge's idea on NODE: Remote Data Monitoring for Agricultural Storage and Processing. I think if you integrate with his idea you'll have a richer data to improve the estimates and recommendation for inputs. See also my post on his idea regarding using data analytics.
