Please elaborate on your proposed solution to the challenge in no more than 300 words.

What if there were community events around the country in the style of The Moth, where people could come together to celebrate life with AD and open-mic-style share stories about their experiences with AD. // I'm inspired by the Moth, a nonprofit organization that hosts open-mic events dedicated to the art of unscripted, first-person storytelling. Stories are funny, sad, embarrassing, the full range of human emotions. They bring people together through intimacy. // I'm also inspired by a friend who's adopted Ethiopian daughter has an annual summer camp she attends to learn and grow with other Ethiopian-American adopted kids and to celebrate her culture. She derives so much pride from this as a 7 year old, and I know it will be a source of strength and resilience when challenges related to her adoption emerge in later years. How might we borrow this framework and apply it to AD? Those elements of community, connections, pride, celebration. // What if we gave away really cool temporary tattoo stickers for allies to sport that marked them as AD allies and friends - beautifully designed so folks wanted to wear them too. // This idea accomplishes three things: 1. It creates a space where folks with AD can feel others being proud and supportive 2. It helps people with AD find one another 3. It creates a space where people who don't understand AD well or who have never heard of it, can learn more - but specifically the human, emotional side 4. It helps find allies afterward

Hi Natalia,
This is interesting, live events certainly can build empathy. I remember an event called the Blind Cafe in pitch black and all the servers were blind, after dinner there was a Q&A, it was a powerful experience.

Another entrant mentioned there already being a National Eczema Awareness day, I wonder if that could be a timely tie-in.

Thanks for sharing!
